Public Outreach & Timeline

Public Outreach

During the development and implementation of the Groundwater Sustainability Plan, we would like to keep stakeholders involved in the process. Because outreach and public involvement is critical to the development and implementation of the Groundwater Sustainability Plan, we are developing a process to educate you on this effort and provide ample opportunities to share your thoughts and ideas.  We encourage you to sign up to receive email updates so that you’re aware of any key milestones as we form the agency and develop the sustainability plan.

Timeline

  • June 2016 through June 2017 – Establish Groundwater Sustainability Agency. We will be working on agency formation comprised of several jurisdictions and water agencies in West Placer.  We intend to meet with designated groups, boards and councils and hold several public meetings to effectively inform, educate and engage people on this effort.
  • June 2016 through January 2020 – Develop a Groundwater Sustainability Plan (GSP).  This plan provides for sustainably managed groundwater that meets the requirements of the state’s new groundwater laws, and outline how the GSA will implement, manage and measure specific actions for the health and viability of the basins.
  • January 2020 – Begin management of Groundwater Sustainability Plan.
